What are the number of miles or a range for oil change intervals?
Former Oil Change Requirements
You may be used to a set oil change interval requirement based on a maintenance schedule, such as every 3,000 or 5,000 miles. Newer models don’t have such requirements, due to improvements in vehicle technologies, so you will no longer find a maintenance schedule or set intervals with your new Acura vehicle.
There are several factors that influence the quality and life of your oil, including weather, driving style, mileage, and trip distance. The Maintenance Minder in newer Acura models measures these factors, along with others, to determine the approximate oil life of your vehicle and notify you when it’s time for an oil change. When the oil life reaches 15%, the Maintenance Minder will provide a notification on the multi-information display, which is when you should schedule an appointment with your Acura dealer. Sometimes the Maintenance Minder will supplement the oil life warning with codes that refer to other components in the vehicle that need maintenance.
For more details on the Maintenance Minder, please review your owner’s manual.
If your vehicle is not equipped with a Maintenance Minder because it is an older model, you can also review your owner’s manual for maintenance details specific to your vehicle.
