Acura incorporated the Stolen Vehicle Locator feature in the AcuraLink® application for select 2014 and newer models. The technology within the feature is designed to assist local authorities in recovering a vehicle. Your Acura vehicle must be compatible and enrolled with the correct AcuraLink® package in order for it to be tracked. To check your vehicle's AcuraLink® compatibility, click here and enter your VIN or select your vehicle's year and model from the dropdown lists.  

Tracking devices do not come standard or built into Acura vehicles from the manufacturing plant. This includes models equipped with the Acura Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ and/or GPS. Third party GPS tracking systems can also help determine the location of a stolen car, although Acura does not recommend installing unapproved devices. Such an installation may interfere with different vehicle systems and likely would not be covered by the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. If you have installed such a device, please contact the tracking device company for assistance in locating the vehicle.

Compatible models with the Stolen Vehicle Locator feature include:

  • 2016-2020 ILX
  • 2015-2020 TLX
  • 2016-2020 RDX
  • 2014-2020 MDX and RLX
  • 2017-2019 NSX

AcuraLink® will request that you provide a police report number after your vehicle has been reported as stolen. At that point, AcuraLink® and the local law enforcement work together to locate the missing vehicle. If there is any indication that the vehicle has been started or the engine is on, the local authorities and/or AcuraLink® will be notified immediately. If you enroll in an AcuraLink® package after the vehicle is stolen, it is impossible to determine if the local authorities will still be able to recover your vehicle. The Stolen Vehicle Locator feature will need to be provisioned in the vehicle; the engine will need to be on and running.
